Do it Afraid.

What if no one likes it? 
What if no one cares? 
Is it really worth my time? 
Giving more than a moment to spare 

I pondered upon all this 
Then I became concerned with my flaws 
I wasn't built to win
Hell, I didn't write the universe's laws

I took a stroll down memory lane
Thinking how far I had come
Knowing how far I could go
I knew I wasn't done

But then I wondered once more 
What do I stand to gain?
If I do this right and get no accolades 
It will only end in pain 

But man is a stubborn creature 
A victim of going the other way 
I forced myself forward
Now look how far I came 

But I'll still remember that scared boy 
One who didn't know what to do
In the face of uncertainty, he kept on moving 
You feet may be shaking but you have to move too

    No matter how I feel, how scared I am, how shaky my legs get, I know the only way to move is onward!

What exactly do you do when you can’t meet up with deadlines? The excuses you come up with to avoid feeling like an inconsistent human. All the side projects you come up with so you don’t have to think about that missed opportunity to actually get something done   I’ll tell you what I do; I forget about it. Sounds crazy but it’s true. I push the problem so far back in my mind that it becomes just a little blip on my mental radar. If I’m feeling especially creative I create problems, blow them out of proportion and then feel safe that I didn’t “fail” but rather became “busy” (What can I say? Many times I find myself asking the same question; why does Monday exist? for whose pleasure?  It's hard to believe that when Emperor Constantine and the Romans decided that Monday, a day named after the moon would begin the week, they imagined it would also come with feelings of dread and drained energy. These issues that Monday bring can be either be external (someone annoys you) or internal (you woke up feeling exhausted). On some occasions, you find any reason you can link to the feeling of distaste and rage that is welling up in you. I'm no psychiatrist but I'll call this " The Monday rage". It's a phase of constant fluctuation between anger and frustration that will no doubt affect those around you negatively.
