Article that the sound of generator won’t let you enjoy

Dear reader, happy new month. I wish you 30 days of glad tidings and good will.
With 3 more months to the end of the year, we can look
back at all we had to endure and smile at the fact that it could be a lot
worse. Somethings however can’t get any worse and there’s a pioneer member of
that category;
Nowadays, you know it’s a national public holiday when
there’s a news publication. Do you know what I look out for? My state electricity
distribution company, PHED, giving us “light” for more than 6 hours in the day
time. It might sound funny to you but that’s the highlight of that day for me;
A period of electricity that I can use for more than just sleeping with fan
blowing while charging phone and laptop.
One look at the power sector and you can tell we
deserve so much more. Why should the fact that “Nepa brought light” be a source
of joy? It shouldn’t be able to go
anywhere in the first place. It doesn’t have legs na (ah ah). To be honest, we
don’t have to get satisfaction from the light spoiling and it “affecting the
whole street”.
Dearest reader, they say only death and taxes are
certain in the universe but I can tell you another; You will put on your
generator by 7pm after a long day of predicting how light is being shared in
your neighborhood (After all this week is your street’s turn, right?)
Let’s bring this to a close. I’m grateful for coming
this far but just think;
If you had light right now, you would feel very
different reading this article
Test; How did you feel when you saw the image at the beginning? let me know in the comment section. Thank you.
I felt that this blog was gonna be talking about this nation and its nasty power supply routine and reminded me am to put on the gen cause the light just went off
ReplyDeleteI felt you were going to expose the Nigerian power sector for what it really is—a ‘basic’ amenity that only wealthy seem to enjoy.
